Jet Age Furniture is the result of a partnership between lifelong friends – Damien Mavis and Pat Arnold – who discovered they shared an interest in engineering, manufacturing and vehicle design. After high school, the two attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo to study mechanical engineering, and also shared a passion for building and racing off-road trucks.

Inspired by the engineering principles he was studying in school, Damien began to design furniture as a hobby, which was a big hit with his friends and family. After graduating from Cal Poly, Damien and Pat parted ways to focus on their respective careers. A few years later, Damien decided to turn his furniture design hobby into a career, and enlisted Pat’s help to launch the business.

The two combined their creativity, innovation and engineering background to create Jet Age Furniture, which is based in the college town of San Luis Obispo, CA.

Jet Age Furniture is a truly unique line that is particularly suited to a minimal or a mid century modern décor. The pieces reflect contemporary design at its best – successfully incorporating engineering principles, energy efficiency, aircraft construction, and cocktail culture with high standards of quality and workmanship.
